An exquisitely renovated residence by Emily Summers Design Associates and Bernbaum Magadini Architects will be the featured home for The Forum’s Spring 365 Modern Living Reception! The evening will include a reception with drinks and hors d’oeuvres, and the chance to see the residence and hear from the design team while enjoying the company of fellow design enthusiasts.

Shenandoah Residence
Located in Highland Park, the Shenandoah Residence is a refined update of a distinguished home thoughtfully renovated by Emily Summers Design Associates and Bernbaum Magadini Architects. The project respects the home’s original architectural framework while introducing a more modern, tailored sensibility rooted in materiality and craftsmanship.
In collaboration with Bernbaum Magadini, Emily Summers’ creative design enhances livability while maintaining the integrity of the original plan. A new bulthaup kitchen anchors the home, where high-gloss lacquer cabinetry is paired with Macaubas stone. Plaster, limewash, and custom paneling create a restrained backdrop for a curated collection of art and furnishings.
Lighting by Barbara Bouyea is carefully integrated to highlight sculpture and artwork throughout the home and surrounding garden. Designed for empty nesters who enjoy entertaining, the residence offers flexible living spaces alongside more intimate areas for visiting grandchildren, including a custom playroom, bunkroom, and reimagined garage space. The result is an elegant balance of traditional and modern. Timeless, personal, and highly considered.
